講返背景，尋日响Donald Trump仲未宣布暫停關稅之前，Scott Bessent响一個論壇到批評西班牙財政部長，覺得對方話關稅令西班牙考慮傾向同中國做貿易等如自殺無分別，佢認為中國嘅模式係不停生產同傾銷，所以盟友間應該達成協議，然後團結集中火力對付。

去到今朝Donald Trump宣布暫停關稅90日之後，Scott Bessent就唔兜圈，直接爆咗老細個大棋盤，「其實可以話，我地係特登逼中國做錯決定，等佢自己揭底牌，依家佢地露晒底。」，再引蛇出洞，講明只係會同唔反制嘅盟友合作，「唔係好難明啫」。
